  • Marketing Intern

    Would you like to intern in a Marketing Department at a "Top Place to Work" law firm?

    We are seeking a highly motivated, eager individual to join our Marketing Department as an intern.  Candidates must have a positive and professional attitude, strong academic credentials and strong communications skills (written and oral).  It is imperative that the candidate has a genuine interest in communications and marketing.  Candidates with some experience working in a professional setting that are following a communications, marketing or related track are preferred.  Though not required, we have a particular interest in candidates that have graphic design experience.

    The intern's duties vary and allow for a true hands-on experience as the intern will work in a small department alongside experienced professionals.  The rate for our internship is $12/hour.

    The ideal candidate will be able to start in late May  or early June 2017 with a possible extension into the fall.  The candidate will be able to work between 30 – 37.5 hours per week in the summer and 15 and 20 hours per week in the fall (if the position is extended).  If you are a motivated team player with strong communication, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, please apply for this internship opportunity with us!

  • Application & Database Developer

    Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Systems and Integration, the Application & Database Developer is a self-starter who thinks outside the box when designing and implementing end-user requirements. S/he will research, design, develop, test, deploy and maintain relational database systems and applications in the Microsoft Windows environment. This includes, but is not limited to Visual Studio and .NET. S/he will be responsible for meeting software compliance standards. S/he will have a strong background with database performance monitoring and tuning as well as solid experience with database encryption, SQL Queries, DTS scripting, database backup procedures and T-SQL Stored Procedures. The developer will assist in the development of operations concepts, requirement specifications, system architecture and design along with evaluating operational requirements and overall system characteristics. Must demonstrate configuration management skills to ensure all aspects of the application software development lifecycle are monitored. Provide impact assessments for cost, schedule, performance and deployment.

    Requirements:

    • 3 - 7 years of relevant experience in the above areas
    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Proficiency with Internet Explorer; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio; Microsoft Word
    • Testing and SharePoint experience 
    • Working knowledge of Web Services
    • Familiarity with current releases of C#, ASP.Net, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and MS SQL Server
    • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) certification required
    • Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) preferred

  • Litigation Docketing Specialist

    We are seeking an experienced docketing professional who will support our Docketing Department as a Litigation Docketing Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and calendaring all incoming correspondence, including, but not limited to, ECF/e-filings, faxes, emails, mail deliveries and service copies in accordance with established court/agency rules and firm procedures. This individual will also be responsible for noting completed tasks and updating docket and calendar systems accordingly.

    Primary duties include:

    • Managing litigation matters by reviewing records and entering schedules or deadlines into the docketing and calendaring systems;
    • Monitoring cases with the use of various online resources;
    • Processing incoming correspondence and/or discrepancy reports on a daily basis and in a timely manner by accurately reviewing correspondence and entering case details and due dates into the firm's docketing databases;
    • Assisting with docketing of U.S., foreign and PTO litigation due dates in the firm's docketing systems;
    • Dedocketing/Redocketing dates in compliance with established firm docket clearing procedures and the firm's Last Day List prevention initiative;
    • Assisting with the processing and review of new, original and transfer-in matters;
    • Monitoring and tracking resolution of any flagged discrepancies to ensure timely updating of firm's docketing systems.

  • Docketing Coordinator

    Sterne Kessler is seeking an experienced docketing professional who will support our docketing team as a Docketing Coordinator.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for docketing database accuracy and integrity as well as the mentoring and training of docketing specialists.  Docketing Coordinators are subject matter experts in IP docketing rules and procedures for U.S. and foreign patent, trademark and litigation applications and filings.  This individual will act as a team lead responsible for workload distribution and the review of records maintained in the firm's docketing systems as needed to help prevent and minimize docketing errors.

    Primary duties include:

    • Reviewing and consolidating dual docket systems;
    • Researching discrepancies and analyzing the cause of these inconsistencies which will involve discussions with team members and docketing managers;
    • Troubleshooting errors, suggesting solutions and corrections as needed, which may include file review, mail review, and/or communication with department staff, including management, legal professionals, third party vendors and IT department personnel, as necessary in accordance with department service level agreements;
    • Generating and proofing all routine and special docket reports for quality as necessary, including general docket reports, daily audit reports, status reports, discrepancy reports, annuity reports, etc.
