  • Professional Development Coordinator

  • Human Resources Intern

    The duties for this position vary and allow for a true hands-on experience as the intern will work in a department alongside experienced professionals.  The rate for this internship is $12.50/hour.

  • Accounting Intern

Previous accounting experience a plus but not required. The rate for this internship is $12.50/hour.

    Duties include but are not limited to the following:

    • Law Firm Client Billing support activities
    • Pulling files, copying, scanning
    • Data entry into our Elite 3E Financial Management System
    • Research and reply to inquiries
    • Other administrative tasks as needed
    • Filing and boxing documents
    • This position requires some light lifting and walking

    • In close consultation with assigned Billing Attorneys, contact the client when necessary to resolve billing issues

    • Create eBilling ledes files for upload to various third-party systems and research and resolve rejections
    • Assist with month-end close out

    • Research complex collection matters including unapplied cash payments to determine proper invoice application
    • Work with the Billing and eBilling teams to optimize our collection efficiency and speed
    • Understand special client requirements or billing instructions including client reference data
    • Prepare monthly A/R reports and provide status updates to Accounting and Finance leadership
    • Research and respond to client and Partner inquiries regarding collection issues, creating reports and schedules as needed
    • Correspond directly with clients providing statements of accounts, copies of invoices and audit requests

  • Application & Database Developer

    Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Systems and Integration, the Application & Database Developer is a self-starter who thinks outside the box when designing and implementing end-user requirements. S/he will research, design, develop, test, deploy and maintain relational database systems and applications in the Microsoft Windows environment. This includes, but is not limited to Visual Studio and .NET. S/he will be responsible for meeting software compliance standards. S/he will have a strong background with database performance monitoring and tuning as well as solid experience with database encryption, SQL Queries, DTS scripting, database backup procedures and T-SQL Stored Procedures. The developer will assist in the development of operations concepts, requirement specifications, system architecture and design along with evaluating operational requirements and overall system characteristics. Must demonstrate configuration management skills to ensure all aspects of the application software development lifecycle are monitored. Provide impact assessments for cost, schedule, performance and deployment.

    Requirements:

    • 3-7 years of relevant experience in the above areas
    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Proficiency with Internet Explorer; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio; Microsoft Word
    • Testing and SharePoint experience 
    • Working knowledge of Web Services
    • Familiarity with current releases of C#, ASP.Net, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and MS SQL Server
    • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) certification required
    • Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) preferred

  • Docketing Coordinator

    Sterne Kessler is seeking an experienced docketing professional who will support our docketing team as a Docketing Coordinator.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for docketing database accuracy and integrity as well as the mentoring and training of docketing specialists.  Docketing Coordinators are subject matter experts in IP docketing rules and procedures for U.S. and foreign patent, trademark and litigation applications and filings.  This individual will act as a team lead responsible for workload distribution and the review of records maintained in the firm's docketing systems as needed to help prevent and minimize docketing errors.

    Primary duties include:

    • Reviewing and consolidating dual docket systems;
    • Researching discrepancies and analyzing the cause of these inconsistencies which will involve discussions with team members and docketing managers;
    • Troubleshooting errors, suggesting solutions and corrections as needed, which may include file review, mail review, and/or communication with department staff, including management, legal professionals, third party vendors and IT department personnel, as necessary in accordance with department service level agreements;
    • Generating and proofing all routine and special docket reports for quality as necessary, including general docket reports, daily audit reports, status reports, discrepancy reports, annuity reports, etc.
