2021 Design Patents Year in Review Webinar

Director Tracy-Gene G. Durkin moderated and Directors Ivy Clarice Estoesta, Daniel A. Gajewski, and Deirdre M. Wells spoke during the webinar “2021 Design Patents Year in Review: Analysis and Trends” on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. EST.

In conjunction with the release of the firm’s inaugural year-in-review report, the speakers offered case summaries and analysis of particularly significant design patent updates and trends. Specifically, the moderator and panelists discussed key 2021 cases involving design patents that were before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, U.S. District Courts, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the International Trade Commission. A look at design cases to watch in 2022 was also explored. And because the design law landscape is constantly changing, the speakers also provided timely updates on important developments in design law globally and the implications they have for IP holders and practitioners.
