Searching the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) trademark database is a key component of a comprehensive clearance search. Are you still learning the new search system? Or are you interested in tips and tricks for upper-level searching? Or are you simply curious how to translate your Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS) searching knowledge to the new syntax? This training covered:

• Navigating the search interface
• Simple searching using drop-down menus
• Advanced searching using field tags

The session closed out with a question-and-answer session and directed attendees to free resources from the USPTO.
