Have you ever worried that if you exited the workforce you would never be able to restart your technical career? There is some evidence to support that belief, but the reality is, restarting your career is absolutely “a thing!” Our speaker experienced an extended career break and successfully reentered the work force and knows of others that have done the same. This talk is for early to mid-career professionals that have or are considering taking a break from their careers. The speaker will address the fear of being left behind due to the pace of technological advancement. Further, the speaker will discuss: Preparing a re-entry kit with a collection of information that can accelerate your preparations for reentering the marketplace; maintaining and leveraging your professional network; building self-confidence; and interviewing purposefully (e.g., what should you look for in a company and ask about when reentering the work force).
