Challenge to ORR Child Detention Policy

Director Salvador M. Bezos has been quoted in the press release, “Challenge to ORR Child Detention Policy,” published by Legal Aid Justice Center. The Justice Center earned a victory as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia tossed out the U.S. government’s motion to dismiss a case on behalf of detained immigrant children and their families. Directors Sal Bezos and J.C. Rozendaal and associate Dallin Glenn assisted the lawsuit.

Bezos said the Office of Refugee Resettlement “has neglected its obligations under the Administrative Procedure Act […and the Act] provides essential protections against this kind of agency overreach.”
