A recent IP Law360 article highlighted Google Inc. and Apple Inc.’s success in a recent inter partes review proceeding against Jongerius Panoramic Technologies LLC. The USPTO invalidated all claims on a patent for panoramic imaging technology after it was demonstrated that the claims at issue were unpatentable in light of prior art. The technology described in the now defunct patent allowed for the simultaneous display of interactive 3D images of an area and an overhead map of the same location.
