Washington D.C. (October 3, 2019) – Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox is pleased to announce that Directors Gaby L. Longsworth, Ph.D. and Deborah Sterling, Ph.D. have been recognized in the 18th anniversary edition of “Women Worth Watching®” by Profiles in Diversity Journal.
The editor notes that the publication is focused on celebrating 166 accomplished women across a wide range of industries who “share their views on numerous topics dealing with the workplace – their individual experiences and prevailing wisdom.”
In Longsworth’s profile she shares how she did not allow bias to push her off her path. “In my experience, as a woman of color in the legal profession, the key is to go beyond the initial (somewhat) awkward moments, finding something you have in common with a colleague or a potential new client, and build on that,” she said.
In the profile of Sterling, she declares that she owns her “inner badass.” “By realizing that most of the time nobody else knows what they are doing either, and getting the courage to grab those new experiences, chase those new clients, take that new leadership role, and look like you’re a badass doing it (even if you think you are winging it), the leap gets a little easier,” Sterling said.
Launched in 2002, the “Women Worth Watching®” program aims to recognize the change makers and leaders who have recorded outstanding achievements throughout their careers. Award recipients are selected following nominations made by their employers, colleagues, peers, and mentors. They are featured in Profiles in Diversity Journal and receive an award trophy.
The full publication of the 18th anniversary edition can be found here. Longsworth and Sterling’s full profiles can be found on page 73 and page 76, respectively.
