Overview
Lauren C. Schleh is counsel in Sterne Kessler’s Electronics Practice Group where he handles preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications. He has also provided assistance in representing both patent owners and third party requesters in ex parte and inter partes reexamination proceedings at the USPTO and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Lauren also has experience in inter partes review proceedings at the PTAB.
Lauren has assisted in important aspects of patent litigation, licensing, and opinions. His technical experience spans numerous disciplines, including OLED driving and pixel circuits, magnetic read/write head technology, video games, cellular communications, semiconductor manufacturing, and integrated circuits.
Lauren is also is a contributing author of Patent Office Litigation, Second Edition, published in 2017, the book provides a fresh and comprehensive exploration of patent office litigation proceedings, including how the proceedings interact with other aspects of patent procurement and enforcement, while delivering practical analysis and advice. This second edition of Patent Office Litigation is the follow up to the first version of the book that was published in 2012 by Thomson Reuters Westlaw that focused on the contested proceedings that were introduced under the America Invents Act that year.
Prior to joining the firm, Lauren worked at another patent law firm, where he was heavily involved in all aspects of U.S. patent prosecution, including reissues and reexaminations.
Lauren received his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School and his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.
