Overview

Sara M. Keeble, Ph.D., is a student associate in Sterne Kessler’s Biotechnology & Chemical Practice Group, where she assists with the preparation of patent applications, freedom-to-operate, and patentability searches. Her technical areas of expertise include bioinformatics, genomics, molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, reproductive biology, population genetics, and evolutionary biology.

Sara has over a decade of both wet lab and computational research experience. Prior to joining Sterne Kessler, Sara worked as a bioinformatics scientist where she worked on the development of microarray products, algorithms for microarray data analysis, and analyzed biobank-scale genomic datasets.

Sara received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Southern California. There she conducted research on the population genomic effects of sexual selection by analyzing sequencing datasets from distinct populations and species of wild mice. Her research also included investigating the involvement of cell-surface and extracellular matrix proteins from female reproductive cells in fertilization outcomes in mice. She received a Graduate Research Fellowship award from the National Science Foundation and the Rosemary Grant award from the Society for the Study of Evolution for her doctoral research.

Sara has authored or co-authored 14 scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
